Writer/Director Matt Johnson made his mark with the web series Nirvana The Band The Show and in 2013, following eighteen months in production, his feature film debut premiered at Slamdance.

The Dirties is a jet black comedy tackling the ever-present topic of bullying in high school. The words found-footage are used here with caution as the film uses the device of a class project to propel the narrative of two movie geeks fighting back against the bullies.

What has impressed about this film as it made its way across the festival circuit is the curious mix of reality and fantasy; the device and the desire to rebel, to fight back, to use film as a weapon. Not to mention the horrible downward spiral of friendship and violence which follows.

We’ve got the first look at the UK poster you’ll be seeing around town before the film finds its place in cinemas on the 6th of June. Do yourself a favour and give the blockbuster merry-go-round a miss and take in something special.
