Hot on the heels of the news that Olivia Colman was in negotiations to star in Marvel series ‘Secret Invasion’ it’s emerged that ‘Games of Thrones’ actress Emilia Clarke is now in the final stages of talks to also join the cast.

She will join Samuel L. Jackson, Kingsley Ben-Adir, who is set to play the villain of the series. Ben Mendelsohn is reprising his role from the film. Clarke’s role is currently being kept under wrap.

Plot details are being kept under wraps but the series will follow on from the Skrulls story threads in ‘Captain Marvel’ and ‘Spider-Man: Far from Home’ and deal with the ever-popular secret agent Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and the shape-shifting alien race.

A director is yet to be found but Kyle Bradstreet (“Mr. Robot”) is writing and executive producing with shooting to begin this Fall in the UK and Europe.

Clarke has previously been nominated four times for an Emmy for her portrayal of Daenerys Targaryen on ‘Game of Thrones,’. On the big screen she has starred in ‘Last Christmas,’ ‘Me Before You,’ ‘Terminator Genisys,’ and ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story.’ Her upcoming projects include a voice role in the animated film ‘The Amazing Maurice.’
