With Fast and Furious 8 speeding into cinemas this week and set to take the worldwide box-office by storm, Edgar Wright’s similarly-themed film could already have a built-in audience – with its crazy car tricks, chases, and high-octane thrills, the film could be one of the sleeper hits of the summer.
A brand new trailer for the eagerly anticipated action-comedy Baby Driver has arrived via TriStar Pictures, which you can view below in all its kinetic glory!

In the lead is Ansel Elgort, star of The Fault in our Stars and Divergent, as the titular, hearing-impaired Baby. A getaway driver for a rag-tag group of criminals lead by their villainous boss (Kevin Spacey), Baby is keen to leave his life of crime behind him especially when he meets Lily James’ pretty waitress and they plan to run away together. But with many criminals on their heels, including Oscar Winner Jamie Foxx (Sleepless) and Mad Men star Jon Hamm, will they be able to escape?
Written and directed by Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Scott Pilgrim vs The World), one of his few away from Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, it looks like one hell of a ride – and in amongst all of the sequels, reboots, comic-books and everything in between, it’s nice to see a film with an original script and concept.
Here’s the official synopsis:
A talented, young getaway driver (Ansel Elgort) relies on the beat of his personal soundtrack to be the best in the game. When he meets the girl of his dreams (Lily James), Baby sees a chance to ditch his criminal life and make a clean getaway. But after being coerced into working for a crime boss (Kevin Spacey), he must face the music when a doomed heist threatens his life, love and freedom.
Baby Driver opens on June 28th.
