With only a few weeks to go before it is unleashed across the globe, Sony has released a brand new trailer for Edgar Wright’s car-chase comedy-thriller Baby Driver, which you can view in the player below!
Marking Wright’s first film since 2013’s The World’s End, Baby Driver sees the director back across the pond to make his 2nd American-based film after Scott Pilgrim vs The World in 2010. Ansel Elgort (The Fault in our Stars, Divergent) stars as Baby, a young talented getaway driver who is driving to pay off a substantial debt to a well-renowned crime boss (Kevin Spacey). After another job ends and he gets closer to paying off his debt, Baby meets local waitress Debora (Lily James) and sparks fly, so much so that he envisages a life away from crime with her.
Reviews for the film so far have been stellar (we gave the film a full five stars from this year’s SXSW) and is set to be a big hit when it debuts on both sides of the Atlantic at the end of the month. Stay tuned for more of our coverage very soon.
Oscar Winner Jamie Foxx (Ray, Sleepless), Jon Hamm (The Town, Mad Men), Eiza Gonzalez (Jem and the Holograms, From Dusk Till Dawn) and Jon Bernthal (Daredevil, The Punisher) co-stars.
Here’s the synopsis for the film:
Talented getaway driver Baby (Ansel Elgort) relies on the beat of his personal soundtrack to be the best in the game. After meeting the woman (Lily James) of his dreams, he sees a chance to ditch his shady lifestyle and make a clean break. Coerced into working for a crime boss (Kevin Spacey), Baby must face the music as a doomed heist threatens his life, love and freedom.
Baby Driver opens in UK cinemas on June 28th.
