Universal Pictures UK has unveiled the first teaser trailer for ‘Disclosure Day,’ a sweeping new science fiction event film from legendary filmmaker Steven Spielberg, and it arrives with a question that lingers long after the screen cuts to black.
Developed by Spielberg alongside longtime collaborator David Koepp, the film imagines a moment that would instantly rewrite human history. Not invasion. Not destruction. Just certainty.
The trailer opens in a familiar Spielbergian register. Ordinary lives. Quiet moments. A world spinning on its usual axis. Then something shifts. A whisper of proof. A crack in the sky of accepted reality. The logline frames the premise with chilling simplicity:
“If you found out we weren’t alone, if someone showed you, proved it to you, would that frighten you?”
From there, the footage suggests a global reckoning, one where the truth is no longer speculative or theoretical, but undeniable. “This summer,” the trailer intones, “the truth belongs to seven billion people.” And the countdown begins toward the moment the film calls ‘Disclosure Day.’
The ensemble cast includes Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor, Colin Firth, Eve Hewson, Colman Domingo, Wyatt Russell, and Henry Lloyd-Hughes.
