In the comic books, one of The Flash’s closest allies is Green Lantern. However, with that character being left on the shelf for the time being, the Fastest Man Alive is going to need a new BFF. Past comments from Justice League producer Deborah Snyder have pointed to Barry Allen growing close to Victor Stone/Cyborg, and it seems they’ll soon be teaming up.

According to Variety, Cyborg is going to be making an appearance in the upcoming Flash movie from Rick Famuyiwa. There’s currently no word on how big his role will be, but it makes sense to expand on their relationship after the two heroes are introduced in Justice League. This will also be a good way to test the waters when it comes to Cyborg’s popularity, especially as he has a solo movie dated for 2020 which may believe will never happen.

Relative newcomer Ray Fisher is playing Cyborg, while Ezra Miller has been cast as The Flash (both actors were seen in these roles for the first time in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, though the latter made a surprise appearance in Suicide Squad earlier this month).

It’s already been confirmed that Dope star Kiersey Clemons will play Iris West in The Flash, but no other characters or cast members have been revealed so far. Shooting on the Scarlet Speedster’s movie will begin later this year, and it’s currently set to be released in 2018.
