Originally due to be released earlier this year, Cuban Fury is finally hitting our cinemas on Valentine’s Day near, and StudioCanal has launched the brilliant first trailer.
Beneath Bruce Garrett’s shabby, overweight exterior, the passionate beating heart of a salsa king lays dormant. Only one woman can reignite his Latin fire. Spotlight hits, sweat drips, heels click – Nick Frost IS Cuban Fury.
Nick Frost is front and centre here as Bruce Garrett, the eponymous Cuban Fury. And he’s joined by a brilliant supporting cast, led by Rashida Jones, Chris O’Dowd, and Olivia Colman.
James Griffiths makes his feature debut at the helm, with Jon Brown (Misfits) penning the script from Frost’s own original idea.
Frost is of course most recently seen opposite Simon Pegg, best known on the big screen for their stellar work in The Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy. It’s not nearly as often that we get to see the former strike it out without Pegg, so it should be a lot of fun to see what he’s like at centre stage, particularly surrounded by such an awesome ensemble.
Cuban Fury will be released on February 14th, 2014 here in the UK. No word yet on a US release date, but given the popularity of Big Talk Productions’ movie stateside, here’s to hoping that eOne will be putting it into cinemas around the same time.
