The seduction of Agatha Christie’s crime stories is all too hard to resist for the movie world, as a new trailer for Crooked House starring Glenn Close has been released.

Based on Christie’s novel, which was the only one not to have received a screen adaptation until now, the story centres around Three generations of the Leonides family living together under wealthy patriarch Aristide, After Aristide is poisoned by his own eye medicine, his granddaughter Sophia tells narrator and fiancé Charles Hayward that they cannot marry until the killer is apprehended. Charles’ father, “The Old Man”, is the Assistant Commissioner of Scotland Yard, so Charles investigates from the inside along with the assigned detective, Chief Inspector Taverner.

Penned by Downton Abbey’s Jullian Fellowes and directed by Gilles Paquet-Brenner and Neil Labute, Crooked House has an all-star ensemble cast in Max Irons as Charles Hayward, Glenn Close as Lady Edith, Gillian Anderson as Magda West, Christina Hendricks as Brenda Leonides, Terence Stamp as Chief Inspector Taverner, Julian Sands as Philip Leonides, and Amanda Abbington as Clemency Leonides

The film will arrive on VOD on November 21st and cinemas on December 22nd.

Crooked House Synopsis
