Tessa Thompson will return alongside Michael B. Jordan and Stallone. At this point, there are talks that Creed and Black Panther helmer, Ryan Coogler could be returning but this time as an executive producer but no deal has been struck as yet.

I look forward to joining the family and continuing the precedent set by this franchise’s alumni of incredible filmmakers.”

The character of Adonis Creed reflects this generation, and I believe it is important to have a director who is part of it, that is why I think we are Lucky to have Stephen Caple Jr A wonderful new talent take over the directorial chores and make the story as relatable as possible… He and Michael B Jordan will deliver a knockout!
Caple will direct from an original screenplay written by Stallone and Cheo Hodari Coker, who was a showrunner on Luke Cage. The film is being produced by Irwin Winkler, Charles Winkler, William Chartoff, David Winkler, and Kevin King-Templeton. Jordan and Guy Riedel will executive produce.
