Having eaten, prayed and loved her way through several hours of my life, it is nice to see Julia Roberts finally engaging with something less, well…Julia Robertsy (my word).

NYMag is reporting that after months of trying, Tarsem Singh is finally in earnest negotiations with Roberts’ people for the role of the Evil Queen in Relativity Media’s The Brothers Grimm: Snow White.

Anyone under the impression that Charlize Theron was already in talks for the role clearly has the wrong Snow White. A competing adaptation of the fairy tale (and Disney classic) is currently housed at Universal with Viggo Mortensen also in negotiations for the beefed up role of the huntsman.

Should the wall mirror say yes and Roberts sign on the dotted line, Singh’s 3D property might finally emerge from relative obscurity. Although neither film has even finished casting yet, The Brothers Grimm: Snow White runs the risk of being out-shadowed by its publicity seeking competition.
