Has the famously reclusive comic Chris Tucker been tempted back to the big screen?

Deadline is reporting that Tucker is to star in a spec script known as The Rabbit. Having been put together by Dan Lin, one of the producers of Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes reinvention,  very little has been revealed as yet, except that Lin has offered this rather vague description – “think Midnight Run.”

Tucker’s previous contributions to cinema are few and far between (his last picture was 2007’s Rush Hour 3 and before that, the 2001 sequel to the original), although it’s not as if the comic is in need of a cash boost – in 1999 he signed a two-picture $45 million deal with New Line Cinema (which included $20 million to co-star in second the Rush Hour).

Still, there must be something interesting in this property (by first-time scriptwriter Micah Barnett) to convince to get back in front of the camera.

We’ll let you know when more is revealed.
