A publicist has confirmed to TheWrap that Chloe Moretz is attached to Universal’s adaptation of the Dark Horse comic Emily the Strange.

Universal recently snatched up the film rights to the comic-book character originally created by Rob Reger and his production company Cosmic Debris in 1993.

Keith Goldberg will executive produce alongside Reger, with Dark Horse’s Mike Richardson acting as producer.

Reger said of the first time he met Moretz:

When I first met Chloe I knew I found my Emily […] She really identifies and understands the character, and has what it takes to bring her to life.

Moretz will next be seen in Matt Reeves’ Let Me In, which opens in the UK on November 5.
