It’s one of the most talked about movie events of the year, and finally it’s time for the cinematic adaption of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cats to hit our screens. To mark the occasion we had the pleasure of meeting director Tom Hooper and one of the lead stars, the ballet dancer Francesca Hayward. Hooper discusses the technical challenges in bringing this to tale to screen, and what it was like directing more experienced stars like Judi Dench and Ian McKellen, in contrast to the likes of Taylor Swift and Jason Derulo. Hayward also tells us who made her most starstruck, and how much of her experience in ballet helped when perfecting the movement of our favourite feline friends. And finally, we had to ask – what on earth is Cat School?
