Things are looking very bad for Lightning McQueen and the rest of Pixar’s Cars. The deeply depressing first teaser trailer giving way to further details of series favourite McQueen (voiced by Owen Wilson)’s fall from grace. New racers on the circuit point to the unthinkable possibility that Ol’ Lightning may have run out of steam. Cue the dramatic hoist on which Pixar are hanging their latest film.

Today’s extended look at Cars 3 shows us a little more of the latest film to arrive from the Emeryville filmmakers. New cars means new voices, and we’ve been waiting to hear more from Cristela Alonzo (the canary yellow Cruz Ramirez) and Armie Hammer (voicing the neon blue Jackson Storm). The ‘Lightning’ and ‘Storm’ names are a neat nod to the battle that will take place in the latest film from Pixar, and the first from director Brian Fee.
