Carey Mulligan made a name for herself with An Education and has built on that with acclaimed work in everything from Wall Street 2 to Never Let Me Go.

While she is due in Australia shortly to startĀ filming The Great Gatsby with Baz Luhrmann and has Nicolas Winding Refn’s acclaimed Drive on its way to us soon, thoughts must always turn to what comes next.

That may well be a sci-fi actioner named Outback, further details of which remain sketchy at the moment. What we do know is that once Gary Ross is done filming The Hunger Games, he is due to direct Outback, the setting and therefore the shooting location will indeed be the Australian outback and Nissar Modi has worked on the script with Ross from an original idea they had.

Beyond that, we don’t know. No plot, no character description. Nothing. Nada. Never mind, we’ll surely hear more before long.

Dave Roper
Dave has been writing for HeyUGuys since mid-2010 and has found them to be the most intelligent, friendly, erudite and insightful bunch of film fans you could hope to work with. He's gone from ham-fisted attempts at writing the news to interviewing Lawrence Bender, Renny Harlin and Julian Glover, to writing articles about things he loves that people have actually read. He has fairly broad tastes as far as films are concerned, though given the choice he's likely to go for Con Air over Battleship Potemkin most days. He's pretty sure that 2001: A Space Odyssey is the most overrated mess in cinematic history.
