Captain-America:-The-Winter-Soldier-UK-Poster-sliceWith the first teaser trailer arriving just before Thor: The Dark World last year, it’s high time that we got a better look at Captain America: The Winter Soldier, the highly anticipated third instalment in Phase Two of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The studio have been gearing up their promotion in recent days, launching new character posters, behind-the-scenes stills, and two theatrical posters for its UK and US releases.

And now taking a leaf out of their playbook with Iron Man 3 last year, having launched an abridged Big Game Spot during the Super Bowl ahead of an extended new look at the film online, they’ve released not one but two epic full-length trailers for The Winter Soldier to blow you away after the film’s Super Bowl TV spot.

After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” finds Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy—the Winter Soldier.

Chris Evans reprises his titular role as Cap, with Scarlett Johansson opposite him as Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow. And joining them is a brilliant ensemble, led by Sebastian Stan as The Winter Soldier, alongside Anthony Mackie, Cobie Smulders, Frank Grillo, Emily VanCamp, and Hayley Atwell, with Robert Redford and Samuel L. Jackson completing the cast.

Anthony and Joe Russo (Arrested Development) direct from a script by returning co-writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely (Captain America: The First Avenger, Thor: The Dark World).

Thor: The Dark World came to a close with two brilliant scenes during and after the credits, and with Guardians of the Galaxy next up on the horizon, you can’t help but also get excited about what Marvel will tease us with here once the credits roll.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier will be released in 3D and IMAX 3D in the UK on 26th March, following shortly after in the US on April 4th.
