The Seasoning House posterPaul Hyett, make up and prosthetics designer for the likes of Eden Lake, The Woman in Black, and Citadel, makes his directorial debut with The Seasoning House, a revenge thriller that went down a treat in the summer at FrightFest – you can read our review here.

The film has been picked up by Kaleidoscope Entertainment for a UK release in the New Year, and the rather brutal first trailer has landed online.

“The Seasoning House – where young girls are prostituted to the military. An orphaned deaf mute is enslaved to care for them. She moves between the walls and crawlspaces, planning her escape. Planning her ingenious and brutal revenge.”

Rosie Day, Sean Pertwee, Kevin Howarth, and Anna Walton star in the leads, with Hyett directing from a script he co-wrote with Conal Palmer and Adrian Rigelsford.

After the reception the film had in August at its premiere at FrightFest, this is definitely a film to look forward to in the New Year, and here’s to hoping it will be arriving in theatres sooner rather than later.

The Seasoning House is currently without a release date, but having been acquired by Kaleidoscope for a UK release, we’ll hopefully have a firm date to look forward to soon. No word on a US release date, but if all goes well here in the UK, then hopefully it will get a US distributor interested. For now, here’s the rather excellent trailer. Enjoy.
