The Five-Year Engagement posterHaving brought The Muppets back to the big screen with their last film, Jason Segel and Nicholas Stoller have reteamed for The Five-Year Engagement to co-write the script, directed this time by Stoller himself (Forgetting Sarah Marshall).

We got our first trailer and poster for the Judd Apatow-produced film back in December, and now have a great new red-band trailer to share with you ahead of its US release this coming weekend, courtesy of the great Funny or Die.

“Beginning where most romantic comedies end, this film looks at what happens when an engaged couple keeps getting tripped up on the long walk down the aisle.”

Segel stars opposite the wonderful Emily Blunt (one of the few brilliant British actresses well known across the Atlantic as well), with a supporting cast that includes the likes of Chris Pratt (Parks and Recreation), Alison Brie (Community), and Jacki Weaver (Animal Kingdom).

Segel is pretty much a comedy natural, so I’m always-already on board when it comes to him, and Blunt excels in everything I’ve seen her star in to date. So we can only be in store for great things.

The Five-Year Engagement is released in the US this Friday, 27th April, but sadly we here in the UK have a little longer to wait before its summer release on 22nd June. Here’s the great new red-band trailer whilst you wait. As usual, its red-band nature means it’s entirely unsuitable for work, so be sure to come back later if you’re currently on the clock.
