We got the first images from the upcoming animated comedy Hotel Transylvania earlier this month, and now the first US English-language trailer has landed, and it’s excellent.

The animation looks just brilliant, and the cast lending their voices to the film is pretty impressive, topped by Adam Sandler, Steve Buscemi, Selena Gomez, Andy Samberg, Kevin James, Cee Lo Green, Fran Descher, and David Spade.

“Welcome to the Hotel Transylvania, Dracula’s (Adam Sandler) lavish five-stake resort, where monsters and their families can live it up, free to be the monsters they are without humans to bother them.  On one special weekend, Dracula has invited some of the world’s most famous monsters – Frankenstein and his bride, the Mummy, the Invisible Man, a family of werewolves, and more – to celebrate his daughter Mavis’s 118th birthday.  For Drac, catering to all of these legendary monsters is no problem – but his world could come crashing down when one ordinary guy stumbles on the hotel and takes a shine to Mavis.”

Genndy Tartakovsky – creator/director of Samurai Jack and Dexter’s Lab – is behind the helm for this, and it looks like it could be a big success, particularly in the family-film department, but with a wider appeal to the older market too.

Hotel Transylvania will be released in 3D in the US on 21st September, before coming to the UK a little later for its debut here on 12th October. Until then, your first official look at the trailer for the film.
