Angel Studios, the prolific faith-based production company, presents Bonhoeffer: Pastor. Spy. Assassin. Written and directed by Todd Komarnicki, this ambitious film delves into the life of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, the German pastor and anti-Nazi dissident who defied Hitler’s tyranny.
Last month we had the pleasure of speaking to director Todd Komarnicki about his film and about the importance of speaking out against the rise of the far right globally. Komarnicki spoke about his admiration for Dietrich Bonhoeffer, a Germain pastor who bravely spoke about Hitler’s hold over the church which led him to want to be part of an assassination attempt against the Führer.
Elsewhere, cinematographer and long time Ridley Scott collaborator John Mathieson talked about his craft, his fascination with the film’s subject matter and why he wanted to work on this extraordinary film. Both interviewees also spoke about their fears of what’s to come after the latest American presidential elections.
