Following a celebrated World Premiere at the BFI Flare: London LGBTIQ+ Film Festival and a whirlwind run of award wins and critical acclaim at festivals around the globe, Corey Sherman’s heartfelt coming-of-age comedy ‘Big Boys’ is finally making its way to UK cinemas. ICON Film Distribution will release the film nationwide on August 29.

The newly released trailer teases a tender, funny, and quietly revolutionary story. At its centre is Jamie (Isaac Krasner, in a Best Breakthrough Performance-winning turn), a shy teenager whose dream camping trip is thrown off course when he learns his beloved cousin is bringing along her confident new boyfriend, Dan. Initially bristling with jealousy, Jamie soon finds himself bonding with Dan over campfire cooking, games, and their shared experience of being “big boys.”

But as the weekend unfolds, Jamie’s growing feelings lead to awkward scrapes, sibling matchmaking gone wrong, and a quietly profound journey of self-acceptance. Despite his brother’s efforts to pair him with a girl staying at the campsite, Jamie’s focus is fixed firmly on Dan — forcing him to confront his identity and desires in a way he never expected.

Also starring Dora Madison (Friday Night Lights), David Johnson III (Lady in the Lake), Taj Cross (Young Rock), and Emily Deschanel (Bones), Big Boys delivers a rare cinematic exploration of attraction, body image, and queer awakening, all wrapped in a warm and witty package.

Written and directed by Corey Sherman, ‘Big Boys’ is more than just a coming-of-age film — it’s a celebration of the moment you first see yourself clearly.
