Peter Sarsgaard is not a bad actor, but he was certainly an unexpected choice for Hector Hammond. Regardless, fans hoped he would prove to be as pleasant a surprise as Heath Ledger was as The Joker.

Instead, what we got was arguably one of the worst performances out of any actor ever in a comic book movie. In fairness, Sarsgaard was lumbered with some fairly horrendous material, but that’s really no excuse for his laughably bad screaming fits and thoroughly unconvincing portrayal of an already mostly silly villain.

Green Lantern was a movie which had a lot of problems, but the lack of a truly believable bad guy was one of its biggest issues.
