Ben Mendelsohn just has one of those faces that fits perfectly with any villainous movie characters, so it comes as no big surprise his name is being bandied about to play the villain in Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel.

After starring in Rogue One, Mendelsohn could be joining teaming up with Marvel again in the undisclosed role but due to plot revelations the project will see Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel facing off against The Skrulls, a race of shape-changing aliens, we can see a little alien in Mendelsohn.
Captain Marvel will be co-directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, who Mendelsohn has previously worked with on Mississippi Grind, the current form of the script has been written by Tomb Raider scribe Geneva Robertson-Dworet.
The film stars Larson as Danvers, an Air Force pilot who gains powers after her DNA becomes fused with an alien after an accident. The film is set in the 1990s and will see Samuel L. Jackson return to play Nick Fury.
Carol Danvers has been labeled “Marvel’s biggest female hero”, a “feminist icon”, as “quite possibly Marvel’s mightiest Avenger”, She was ranked twenty-ninth in Comics Buyer’s Guide’s “100 Sexiest Women in Comics” list, and was ranked #11 on IGN’s “Top 50 Avengers”.
Mendelsohn will be seen in his villainous ways as antagonist Nolan Sorrento in Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One adaptation and the Sheriff in Nottingham in Robin Hood: Origins starring Taron Egerton and Jamie Foxx.
Captain Marvel is scheduled for a March 8th 2019 release.
