First introduced to the world back in 1980, the beloved Eric Wimp is about to get his big screen debut in next year’s Bananaman.
Starting out life in Nutty, with later appearances in The Dandy and The Beano, Bananaman went on to have his own TV series, running for three spectacular seasons, which I loved when I was a kid.
Earlier this year, word surfaced that the comic book character would soon be getting the cinematic treatment when an official site – www.bananamanmovie.com – was discovered. And at this weekend’s MCM Comic Con in London, the first teaser poster was debuted.
Pretty much everything surrounding the film is still being kept under wraps.
At the moment, no word yet on a director, a writer/s, or the cast. But the teaser poster’s appearance at the convention confirms this is happening, and that it’s happening soon.
DC Thomson, who own the rights to the character, are working in conjunction with Elstree Studio Productions.
No exact release date just yet, but we know that Bananaman is coming in 2015. #PeelThePower.
