It’s a well-known fact that many of Hollywood’s Aussie actors have appear in the likes of Home and Away and Neighbours during their rise to the big leagues. Much like every British Actor has at some point cut their teeth on Eastenders, Coronation Street, Casualty or The Bill, it’s a rite of passage for all Aussie mega-stars to, at some point appear in one of the big two Channel 5 Aussie dramas. That said, on doing research for this article, it would appear that half the people in this list were actually born in the UK or US, but we’ll push that aside for now and focus on their accents!

10) Holly Valance
Holly Valance played the character of Felicity Scully in Neighbours between the years of 1999 and 2005. She moved to Hollywood in 2005 where she appeared in an episode of CSI: NY and then managed to get the starring role in the forgettable DOA: Dead or Alive. I guess the fact they had to explain the title of the movie with a colon meant the movie was always doomed to fail bringing in $7.5m in a movie that cost $21m to make.
She went on to star in the movie Taken opposite Liam Neeson but will be known by many for playing the role of Nika Volek in TV show Prison Break. Her latest movie according to IMDb is Red Herring which is completed and is due for release next year (watch out for that one although the poster is somewhat scary! What’s happened to her neck?! Photoshop Fail).
