Kristen-WiigIf you weren’t already looking forward to Arrested Development Season 4 (and, really, you should have been), then the latest piece of casting news is bound to get your anticipation rising.

And if, like us, you’ve been awaiting the new season ever since it was first officially announced, then we have two more things to add to the list of things we’re looking forward to in the spring.

Kristen Wiig and Seth Rogen.

THR are reporting that Wiig and Rogen will be making appearances on Arrested Development Season 4, which is set to debut on Netflix this May. And if all goes according to plan, we’ll be getting every single episode made available on the same day. So it’s going to be Arrested Development heaven.

And to make things all the sweeter, Vulture are reporting that Wiig will be playing a young version of Lucille! (Played by Jessica Walter in the show.) And I can’t begin to tell you how ridiculously happy I am at that prospect. Creator Mitch Hurwitz is clearly a genius. (Though, of course, we’ve known this for a long time.)

Wiig is absolutely brilliant, and I can’t think of anyone I’d rather have playing young Lucille.

No word yet on who Rogen will be playing, but we don’t doubt that it’s going to be another amazing role.

The entire original leading cast will be back for season four, which means we can look forward to seeing Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, Michael Cera, Alia Shawkat, Portia de Rossi, David Cross, Tony Hale, Jessica Walter, and Jeffrey Tambor. And naturally Ron Howard is returning to narrate.

Joining Wiig and Rogen as guest stars is an expectedly brilliant line-up, headed up by Judy Greer, Henry Winkler, Isla Fisher, Mae Whitman, Scott Biao, Jeff Garlin, the cast of Workaholics, Carl Weathers, Conan O’Brien, Andy Richter, and Liza Minnelli. And John Slattery is expected to star in a recurring, as-yet-unknown role.

Arrested Development Season 4 is set to air on Netflix in May, and will be the first act in the run-up to the anticipated, and long-awaited Arrested Development movie. I cannot wait. This is all going to be incredible.
