Arrested-Development-PosterWe’ve been anxiously awaiting the return of Arrested Development to our screens, and now we finally have a fixed date to mark on the calendars!

Netflix have announced that the programme will be premiering (in its entirety) at 12:01am PT on 26th May, and that the order has been expanded once more from its initial ten, to total fifteen episodes.

And when it comes to Arrested Development, you know that can only be a good thing.

Officially, Netflix are emphasising that this new set of episodes does not amount to a fourth season. From the outset, creator Mitch Hurwitz has said that he intends this new set of episodes to be Act One of the anticipated Arrested Development Movie. And we’re keeping our fingers crossed that the new episodes will be very well received (because how couldn’t they be?), and that the path to the movie will be made that much easier.

The entire original leading cast will be back for season four, which means we can look forward to seeing Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, Michael Cera, Alia Shawkat, Portia de Rossi, David Cross, Tony Hale, Jessica Walter, and Jeffrey Tambor. And Ron Howard is, of course, returning to narrate.

And they’re joined by a brilliant line-up of cameos and recurring cast members, including Judy Greer, John Slattery, Seth Rogen, Kristen Wiig, Henry Winkler, Isla Fisher, Mae Whitman, Scott Biao, Jeff Garlin, the cast of Workaholics, Carl Weathers, Conan O’Brien, Andy Richter, and Liza Minnelli. What more could you ask for?

The new episodes of Arrested Development will be premiering on Netflix on 26th May. Mark your calendars, folks, because this is going to be incredible.
