Anthony Mackie (The Hurt Locker) is in talks to star in 20th Century Fox’s upcoming horror-thriller Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.
Mackie will star opposite Benjamin Walker (Kinsey), and possibly Dominic Cooper (Tamara Drewe), who is believed to be in contention for a major role.
Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted) is set to direct a script from Seth Grahame-Smith.
President Lincoln’s mother is killed by a supernatural creature, which fuels his passion to crush vampires and their slave-owning helpers.
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter will be released on August 22, 2012.
Mackie will next be seen in The Adjustment Bureau, opposite Matt Damon (Hereafter) and Emily Blunt (The Devil Wears Prada).
