With less than two months to go before Ron Burgundy’s hugely anticipated return to the big screen in Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, Paramount has done us all a favour in releasing two brilliant new trailers for the December-set comedy.
The latest trailer launched way back in the summer, so the timing feels perfect, with the sequel’s release so close on the horizon.
With the ’70s behind him, San Diego’s top rated newsman, Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell), returns to the news desk in “Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues.” Also back for more are Ron’s co- anchor and wife, Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate), weather man Brick Tamland (Steve Carell), man on the street Brian Fontana (Paul Rudd) and sports guy Champ Kind (David Koechner) – All of whom won’t make it easy to stay classy…while taking the nation’s first 24-hour news channel by storm.
Will Ferrell is of course back for more as Burgundy, and he’s joined by a stellar cast of new and familiar faces, led by Paul Rudd, Steve Carell, and David Koechner, Christina Applegate, alongside Kristen Wiig, Greg Kinnear, Harrison Ford, Josh Lawson, Fred Willard, Chris Parnell, Luke Wilson, and Vince Vaughn, and a slew of more cameos.
Adam McKay is back in the director’s chair, directing from a script he co-wrote with Ferrell, and the two are also producing with Judd Apatow and Kevin Messick.
Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues touches down in cinemas on December 20th, and is sure to provide some great comedy counter-programming in the midst of the awards season.
