Here’s an interesting update on the America Pie series (aka the franchise that keeps giving).

After three previous cinema features and umpteenth cheap DTV facsimiles, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Jason Biggs, Seann William Scott and Eugene Levy have all completed deals for the grandiose-sounding American Reunion. This one is being written and directed by Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, who both filled the same roles on Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay.

It’s also being reported that Universal are trying to bring a number of the original cast back for the forth feature. An instant image of Chris Klein at home, standing diligently over his phone with fingers crossed to the point of breaking in two, comes to mind. It’s a shrewd move on behalf of the studio, as the characters could keep coming back at various key stages in their lives. It could potentially run for many years to come yet.

Coming to cinemas screen in 2050: American Crematorium.
