The first trailer and poster for Ridley Scott’s real life story of the kidnap of the richest man in the world, J. Paul Getty’s grandson, All the Money in the World, has landed with an unrecognisable Kevin Spacey taking a miserly stand against the perpetrators.

Spacey plays the billionaire oil magnate, who didn’t believe the kidnap of his favourite grandson, Paul (Charlie Plummer) was enough reason to hand over any sum of money for his freedom. The fast paced trailer, based in the early 70’s focuses mainly on Paul’s Mother, Gail, played by Michelle Williams, only a Getty by marriage, she forcibly states, as she tries to do whatever it takes to save her son while building up a relationship with Getty Security guard Fletcher (Mark Wahlberg).

All the Money in the World Official Synopsis

Rome, 1973. Masked men kidnap a teenage boy named Paul (Charlie Plummer). His grandfather, J. Paul Getty (Kevin Spacey), is the richest man in the world, a billionaire oil magnate, but he’s notoriously miserly. His favourite grandson’s abduction is not reason enough for him to part with any of his fortune.

All the Money in the World follows Gail, (Michelle Williams), Paul’s devoted, strong-willed mother, who unlike Getty, has consistently chosen her children over his fortune. Her son’s life in the balance with time running out, she attempts to sway Getty even as her son’s mob captors become increasingly more determined, volatile and brutal. When Getty sends his enigmatic security man Fletcher Chace (Mark Wahlberg) to look after his interests, he and Gail become unlikely allies in this race against time that ultimately reveals the true and lasting value of love over money.
