Alan Arkin (Little Miss Sunshine) will star in the dark indie dramedy Buttercup opposite Jennifer Aniston (The Good Girl), a source close to the film has revealed, via TheWrap.
Arkin is set to portray a grossly irresponsible father who, in the wake of his wife’s death, decides to get his life back on track with the help of his slightly neurotic daughter (Aniston).
Niki Caro (Whale Rider) is attached to direct from a screenplay by Alice O’Neil.
Production is expected to commence early next year.
