class=”alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-115759″ title=”Ab Fab” src=”https://www.heyuguys.com/images/2011/11/Ab-Fab-220×150.jpg” alt=”” width=”220″ height=”150″ />We may be a little late to the party on this one – fashionably late, darling – but Jennifer Saunders has revealed that she has plans to pen a big screen version of her hit show, Absolutely Fabulous..

Busy putting the finishing touches to Spice Girls stage musical Viva Forever, Saunders is poised to return to the role of woman-child Edina Monsoon, with Joanna Lumley once again in tow as the chain-smoking Patsy Stone.

The plot – as it stands – looks set to find Eddy and Patsy nursing hangovers aboard a yacht,  inexplicably lost at sea. The movie will follow three specials currently in production, the first of which is scheduled for a Christmas release – presumably now that Lumley has successfully saved the Ghurkas and finished her whirlwind Greek odyssey.

Saunders’ Ab Fab: The Movie certainly has the backing of BBC Films, anyway, with Christine Langan telling Deadline, “I think she’s a genius. I can’t imagine anything more exciting than working with her.”
