Darren Aronofsky’s Noah is set to the one of the biggest blockbuster epics of 2014, if not one of the biggest films in recent years, and it’s been something to look forward to ever since he first announced it in the summer last year.

We got our first look at biblical ark being built last month, and now cinematographer Matthew Libatique has treated us to a sneak peek inside through his Twitter. The original post seems to have disappeared, but he had originally said with it,

“Pre lighting on the holiest day of the year.”

The immense cast is led by Russell Crowe in the eponymous lead, alongside Jennifer Connelly, Emma Watson, Anthony Hopkins, Logan Lerman, and Douglas Booth.

“In Aronofsky’s take on the Biblical tale, Noah is a man who loves Earth and all of its animal inhabitants, but has become disillusioned with the way humans have treated their planet.”

Aronofsky penned the original script himself with Ari Handel (The Fountain), and the great John Logan (Skyfall, Gladiator) provided a rewrite.

Noah is set for release in the UK and US on 28th March, 2014, a date which really can’t come fast enough. Aronofsky’s last film, Black Swan, took both critics and the box office by storm back in 2010, winning Natalie Portman an Oscar for her performance, and I can’t wait to see what the writer-director brings us next. For now, here’s Libatique’s sneak peek from the ark. (And that definitely looks like a rather large alligator.) As usual, you can click to enlarge.
