Part of the pleasure of watching Pixar’s latest at the cinema is the chance to see their beautifully made short films, and when the audiences gather for their third trip down Toy Story avenue they will have the opportunity to enjoy Day & Night.

When Dave was out at Pixar earlier this year he was among the select few to have seen the completed short at that time, and while his reaction is buried under the embargo elephant I’ve read between the lines and am really looking forward to this one.

If you’ve seen or read any of our coverage for Day & Night so far then you’ll know that it is not a simple one to describe, but in the featurette included in this post director Teddy Newton leads other Pixarians in talking about the short, its concept and design, and it all makes for fascinating viewing.

And it’s a sign of the times that we’re looking forward to Day & Night more than most summer films (Knight & Day, for example), and while Pixar’s star continues to rise above all others I will be watching every move they make from their stratospheric vantage point.

The excellent guys over at Pixar Planet rolled this one out, and that’s just one of the many reasons why you should click on their link.
