2. Star-Lord vs. Ronan the Accuser
For whatever reason, this upset some comic book fans, but the final battle between the Guardians of the Galaxy (specifically Star-Lord) and Ronan the Destroyer took the typical superhero movie fight scene and turned the idea on its head.
Director James Gunn could have done the expected by having the Infinity Stone give Quill powers somehow so that he could physically beat the villain, but instead…he distracted Ronan with a dance off. Brilliant.
His bemused reaction was priceless as was the touching sequence which followed as the quirky team of heroes united to control the cosmic weapon and stop the genocidal lunatic for good.
