Your Sister's Sister posterWith an excellent leading trio in the form of Emily Blunt (The Adjustment Bureau), Mark Duplass (Humpday), and Rosemarie DeWitt (Mad Men), Your Sister’s Sister came out of Sundance strong early this year with critics’ praise.

IFC picked the film up for US distribution, giving it a limited release this past weekend, and though the final numbers are still coming in, the early numbers are very strong, topping the speciality box office across the Atlantic.

IFC have put out four new clips from the film, giving us a taste of what we can look forward to in the UK next weekend.

Written and directed by Lynn Shelton, who wrote and directed Humpday starring Duplass, the film played at Glasgow Film Festival earlier this year, and you can Jamie’s review here – it definitely sounds like a film you’ll want to see.

“A year after his brother’s death, Jack (Duplass) still see-saws between emotionally wobbly and outright volatile. When he makes a scene at a memorial party, Iris (Blunt) intervenes with a plan: Jack must oil up his old bike and trek to her father’s cabin on an island on Puget Sound, where isolation will give his brain a chance to detangle. When Jack gets to the woods, however, he finds not solitude but Iris’ sister Hannah (DeWitt), herself nursing a wounded heart and a bottle of tequila. After several shots and some slurred commiseration, liquor isn’t the only fluid these two end up sharing. Their hangover descends in the form of Iris, who pulls up with a bag of groceries the next morning.”

Your Sister’s Sister will be released in the UK next Friday on 29th June, as well as getting a wider US release this coming weekend. If you haven’t already, make a note. For now, four new clips to give you a taste and whet your appetite. Enjoy.
