Last night’s Golden Globe awards provided a whole cauldron of surprise and disbelief in its winner’s list. So much so that the awards have come under fire and has seen a major backlash online with many shouting loud and clear from their soapbox.
Hosted by Andy Samberg and Sandra Oh the controversial ceremony saw the main culprit of so much rage and disgust as the Best Motion Picture – Drama award went to Bryan Singer’s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’. Other winners of the night included ‘Green Book’ for best comedy/musical, Rami Malek for his portrayal of Freddie Mercury in the aforementioned ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’, Glenn Close for her star turn in ‘The Wife’ and Britains own beloved actress, Olivia Colman for her inspired performance in Yorgos Lanthimos’s ‘The Favourite’.
Another talking point from the night proved to be a lot more fun than the ceremony itself. Idris Elba has broken the internet by posting an ‘Awks’ photo with the current Bond, Daniel Craig, and himself, being a potential suitor to take over the Bond mantle.
