After working together back on last year’s Contraband, Mark Wahlberg and director Baltasar Kormákur are reteaming this year to bring 2 Guns to the big screen. And with Denzel Washington starring opposite Wahlberg this time around, the film is shaping up to be one of the summer’s biggest blockbusters.
We got our first look at Wahlberg and Washington earlier in the year. And with its August release date fast approaching, the first trailer and poster have debuted over on Apple.
Academy Award(R) winner Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg lead an all-star cast in 2 Guns, an explosive action film that tracks two operatives from competing bureaus who are forced on the run together. But there is a big problem with their unique alliance: Neither knows that the other is an undercover federal agent.
Wahlberg and Washington are joined by a great cast, led by Paula Patton, James Marsden, Bill Paxton, Edward James Olmos, Robert John Burke, and Alexandria Deberry.
Kormákur is directing from a script by Blake Masters (Brotherhood), who makes his feature debut as a writer, adapting the original graphic novel by Steven Grant.
2 Guns is set to be released in the US a little earlier than expected, brought forward by two weeks to August 2nd. Still no word yet on a firm UK release date, but we’d imagine this will be hitting our shores in August too. It looks like we’re in for an adrenaline-fuelled ride.
