In the past few months, we’ve been seeing brilliant images of Johnny Depp and the rest of the cast of Tim Burton’s next offering, Dark Shadows, and now comes a wonderful first look at the film in video form.

The first official trailer will premiere on The Ellen DeGeneres Show tomorrow, and via ComicBookMovie, we have two videos featuring snippets of footage for what is promising to be a fantastic follow-up to Burton’s last film, Alice in Wonderland, the ninth highest-grossing film of all time.

Based on the original 1960s TV series, Dark Shadows has Depp’s character, Barnabas, as its protagonist, and the plot looks a little like this:

“In 1752, the Collins family sails from Liverpool, England to North America. The son, Barnabas, grows up to be a wealthy playboy in Collinsport, Maine and is the master of Collinwood Manor. He breaks the heart of a witch, Angelique Bouchard, who turns him into a vampire and buries him alive. In 1972, Barnabas is freed and returns to find his manor in ruin. It is occupied by dysfunctional descendants and other residents, all of whom have secrets.”

Along with his frequent collaborator Depp, Burton has assembled a fantastic cast, including Eva Green, Chloë Moretz, Michelle Pfeiffer, Jonny Lee Miller, Bella Heathcote, Jackie Earle Haley, and of course, his other frequent collaborator and real-life wife, Helena Bonham Carter.

Dark Shadows marks novelist/screenwriter Seth Grahame-Smith’s feature debut, and is due to be released in the UK and USA on 11th May, so we’re less than two months away from seeing the final product. I can’t wait. Be sure to check back in for the full trailer when it hits tomorrow.
