10. It Has The Best Marvel Movie Soundtrack To Date

GOTG Soundtrack

Some of the previous trailers and TV spots have utilised some amazing tracks from the 80s, and The Runaways’ Cherry Bomb is used to great effect here. A soundtrack listing for Guardians of the Galaxy revealed that the movie will also feature the likes of David Bowie and Marvin Gaye, helping to distinguish this as the most unique sounding Marvel movie to date.

There’s a good reason that these songs have been chosen though. Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) was taken from Earth in the 80s, so this tape and some of the knick-knacks like those you see above are all he has left of his home planet. It was smart of Gunn to utilise this part of the character’s back story to influence the soundtrack, just as Jon Favreau did to some extent with AC/DC in his first two Iron Man movies.
