Ant-Man is the final Phase 2 movie, but it feels so fresh and original that it may as well have been the start of Phase 3 (especially as that will introduce everyone from Black Panther to Doctor Strange and a new Spider-Man). 10. The Break-In
Ant-Man has been billed as a heist movie, and Scott breaking into Hank Pym’s house is a sequence which doesn’t disappoint. Expertly preparing the room after using his wits to get through a fingerprint scanner and the near impenetrable safe, this break in gives us a great idea of just how smart Scott is as it quickly becomes apparent that he isn’t just a crook or petty thief. It also establishes that he’s definitely the right man to take over the Ant-Man mantle and help Hank and Hope bring an end to Darren Cross’ nefarious plan. It’s the little touches which make this scene stand out, whether it’s Scott using a blanket to dampen the sound of the safe’s bolts flying off or an inflatable mattress to soften the blow of the falling safe door.
