Despite the fact that it has not yet been officially announced (just mentioned in the press release announcing their DC Comics slate), Warner Bros. do have plans for another solo movie starring Batman.
It won’t be easy to follow in the footsteps of Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Trilogy, but as the Caped Crusader who is set to be introduced in Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice this year is going to be a lot closer to the version from the comic books. That opens the door to a lot of different stories.
How much of a commitment Ben Affleck has made to the role isn’t clear, but we do know that Batman will be seen in the two Justice League movies and possibly Suicide Squad in addition to at least a one solo film.
When he does eventually get his own movie, what direction should it go in? Affleck’s Batman is said to have been in operation for a number of years, so there will be no real need for origin stories for his villains as he lives in an already established universe.
That’s why these comic book arcs are perfect picks to be adapted…
10. Batman And Son
It’s still not quite clear what role – if any – Robin will play in Batman’s corner of the newly formed DC Cinematic Universe. The Boy Wonder isn’t easy to bring to the big screen, but this story makes it obvious that Damian Wayne is the perfect choice to reintroduce the sidekick to moviegoers.
He’s the lovechild of Batman and Talia al Ghul, and Bruce Wayne doesn’t discover his existence until the boy is 10. While their relationship is tense to begin with (especially as Damian has been trained to kill by the League of Assassins), they soon form a bond as Batman trains him in his heroic ways, freeing the youngster of the sinister manipulations of the al Ghul family.
This Batman/Robin relationship is by far the best choice for live-action.
