X-Men DOFP

X-Men: Days of Future Past has already passed 0 million worldwide, making it the most successful instalment in the X-Men franchise yet. It’s also been praised by critics, with even the most picky of fanboys finding something to love in what has been hailed as Bryan Singer’s best X-Men movie yet!

While it didn’t always pay close attention to the comics, there’s no denying that X-Men: Days of Future Past was a satisfying movie-going experience, and so we’ve decided to count down ten of the best moments. However, as you might expect, there are plenty of spoilers ahead, so stop reading now if you haven’t seen it.

10. Kitty Pryde’s New Powers

Kitty Pryde

In the comics, the mind of a middle aged Kitty Pryde was sent back in time to her younger body. That didn’t work in the X-Men Cinematic Universe, so Bryan Singer wisely decided to play around with the character’s powers to allow her to send back others. This is obviously very different to the comic books and has angered some fans as a result, but as a plot device, it works. How exactly did the young hero gain these new abilities since we last saw her in X-Men: The Last Stand? Well, for that explanation, we are able to turn to the comics! In those, many mutants undergo secondary mutations which give them new abilities. It’s basically an easy way for writers to update a characters look or power set, so can we really criticise Singer for doing the same thing? Nope!
