Just moments ago, Warner Bros. revealed the first trailer for Wonder Woman in Hall H at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. We’ve already seen snippets of footage from the movie, but those pale in comparison to what this proper first look shows off as the Amazonian warrior (played by Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’s Gal Gadot) heads into action.

We don’t learn a huge amount about the story here (there’s no sign of the villain), but action, heart, and humour definitely appear to be what the studio wants to get across here, and Wonder Woman definitely has all the makings of a hit based on this sneak peek.

“Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior,” a recently released synopsis teased. “Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.” The movie is going to be set during World War I, making it very unique.

Wonder Woman also stars Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Ewen Bremner, Saïd Taghmaoui, and Lucy Davis. Directed by Patty Jenkins, principal photography has taken place on location in the UK, France and Italy. It’s set to be released in 2017.
