Marvel might just have the knives out for our new incarnation of Spider-Man, the more than excited Tom Holland has let slip that we aren’t just getting a sequel to his version of the nimble web slinger, were getting a whole trilogy.

In a recent interview with AlloCiné the young British actor, who made his debut as Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War last year, divulged a little more information than he probably should when asked about the future of his outing in the red and blue technology ridden lycra suit.

“There is still a lot of room for Peter Parker and Spider-Man” Holland stated, “especially, to grow in the next two movies. He’s definitely not the finished article by the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming and I really look forward to exploring the different ways he can grow up and… go through puberty I guess. It’s going to be an exciting couple of movies.”

He went on to clarify “There will be a Spider-Man 2 and 3… Yeah, well now you know, sorry Marvel. Whoops!”

Spider-Man Homecoming

Was this a deliberate slip? We think so, Marvel will more than likely have written in his contract he is under strict orders to keep mum on any details surrounding the franchise. With Spider-Man: Homecoming’s imminent release on July 7th he has probably been given the green light to give away certain information for publicity.

Spider-Man: Homecoming isn’t the only picture Holland will be seen in this year, a million miles away from Marvel’s new superhero, Holland will be starring opposite both Benedict Cumberbatch and Michael Shannon in the forthcoming historical biopic on Thomas Edison and George Westinghouse, The Current War.
