Summit Entertainment and Millenium Films has today unveiled a brand new trailer for their anticipated action-comedy The Hitman’s Bodyguard, which you can view in the player below!

The new film stars Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool, Life) and Samuel L. Jackson (Kong: Skull Island, Avengers: Infinity War) and thus far the marketing has been making a few loving pokes at the classic 1992 film The Bodyguard including utilising the poster and Whitney Houston’s famous song “I Will Always Love You” to add to the “fun” aspect of the film.

The second trailer, however, goes all out on the action front as well as a whole host of R-rated humour for which Reynolds and Jackson are dab hands at. In the film, Reynolds plays the world’s leading bodyguard and is offered a new job: guarding one of the world’s leading hitmen (Jackson) – but, as you would have expected, things behind to awry for the duo and they are soon thrust together to try to keep each other alive.

Directed by The Expendables 3 and Red Hill helmer Patrick Hughes and written by Tom O’Connor (Fire with Fire), the film co-stars Academy Award Nominee Gary Oldman (The Dark Knight Trilogy, RoboCop), Academy Award Nominee Salma Hayek (Beatriz for Dinner, Tale of Tales), Elodie Yung (Daredevil, Gods of Egypt), Joaquim del Almeida (Fast & Furious 5, Clear and Present Danger) and Richard E. Grant (Logan, Jackie).

Here’s the official synopsis:

“The Hitman’s Bodyguard” is about the world’s best bodyguard (Reynolds), who is commissioned to guard one of the world’s best hitmen (Jackson.) After things go wrong, hilarity and explosions ensue. The explosions come courtesy of director Patrick Hughes, who is coming off directing “The Expendables 3.” Joining Reynolds and Jackson in the cast are Gary Oldman, Salma Hayek, and Elodie Yung.
