Felicity Jones has already been confirmed as leading the cast of Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One, while Ben Mendelsohn is also strongly rumoured to be in contention for a lead role. However, two more names have emerged today as being in talks to join the movie which is being directed by Godzilla’s Gareth Edwards.

Apparently Nightcrawler star Riz Ahmed and The Hunger Games’ Sam Claflin are both being lined up for roles in the movie which will apparently have a large cast with a feel similar to the Magnificent Seven.

Plot details were kept under wraps for some time, but Edwards revealed at Star Wars Celebration that Rogue One will follow a rogue band of resistance fighters united to steal the Death Star plans and bring new hope to the galaxy. The movie will explore a world without the Jedi as it takes place before A New Hope.

ILM CCO and Oscar winner John Knoll is producing the movie alongside Simon Emanuel (The Dark Knight Rises), Jason McGatlin (Tintin), Kathleen Kennedy, Tony To (Band of Brothers), and John Swartz (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) Alexandre Desplat (The King’s Speech) has been confirmed as scoring the movie.

Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One will follow Star Wars: The Force Awakens on December 16th, 2016.
