Does Avengers: Age of Ultron surpass movies like Spider-Man 2 (not The Amazing Spider-Man 2) and The Dark Knight Rises as the greatest comic book movie sequel ever? 10. Straight To The Point
On repeat viewings, the first forty minutes or so of The Avengers are a little tedious to get through, and that’s mostly down to the fact that Joss Whedon had to reintroduce each of the characters and set the stage for them to assemble in the second act. There’s nothing that can be done about that, but it’s thankfully an issue which doesn’t plague Avengers: Age of Ultron. Instead, we’re thrown straight into the action with an incredible sequence unfolding all in a single take as Earth’s Mightiest Heroes go to war against HYDRA. It’s instantly apparent that The Avengers now comfortable working together as a team, and the dynamic is a lot of fun to watch. The recurring joke about Steve telling Tony off for his bad language is also a highlight.
