The Marvel Cinematic Universe kicked off with Iron Man in 2008, and with nine very successful movies now behind them (ten if you count the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy), they’ve laid their plans out for as far as 2019 by announcing five release dates for currently unspecified movies.

We know that Captain America 3 is coming in 2016 on May 6th (the same date as Batman V Superman) and that something – likely Scott Derrickson’s Doctor Strange – will follow on July 8th, but Marvel have finally expanded their yearly release schedule to include three movies instead of only two the following year. Those are the already announced May 5th, 2017 movie and now two more which are set to hit on July 28th and November 3rd, 2017.

In 2018, we’ll be treated to new Marvel Studios movies on July 6th and November 2nd, with another following on May 3rd, 2019. These are all great dates and it’s smart to pencil them in so soon.

It’s nearly impossible to guess which movies these could be however! Another Thor and Avengers movies are a sure thing, while Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and Ant-Man 2 might be in there somewhere should both turn out to be hits at the box office. With any luck, some new characters (such as Black Panther) will also be squeezed in.

Though they more than likely won’t reveal what each of these releases will be, don’t be surprised if Marvel Studios announce at least their 2016/2017 plans next weekend during the San Diego Comic-Con.
